My windows xp computer is running at snail's pace.

Hi. my computer with Windows XP is running very slow. I think it may have some kind of virus. I ran Malwarebytes full scan using Safe Mode without Networking and to no avail. Then I reinstalled Office and still nothing. What can I do?

Run a hard drive test in DOS...HIRENS CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive...

Anything else you can tell us? Can you check Windows Task Manager? Is this the first time it's happened?
Are you trying to run lots of things at the same time?
Have you done the usual things: Run disk cleanup, defragment.
Can you run disc-check?
