I'll get straight to the point. I just built a gaming rig, and I have no choice but to use wireless due to the fact that the modem and router cannot be moved from the main floor of the house. My PC is down in the cave and I get horrible connection. I'm using TP-LINK model TL-WN851ND. Would buying a better/bigger antennae do me any good, rather than using the antennae that came with it? Any suggestions?

Your best solution would be to run an Ethernet cable from router to the 'cave' and use your motherboard LAN. That will be the fastest connection, immune to wireless issues. Newegg has them up to 1000', but the shorter the better.

If that is impossible, try to find an adapter like this that has an extension cable to locate the antenna in the best location for signal strength.
