Hello,
I am about to buy a GTX460 and do not need overclocking. I have found what seems to be a good deal on an MSI 1Gb model which is factory overclocked.

As I probably do not need the overclocking:
- is it possible to adjust the performance down?
- would this reduce the stress on the card and make it last longer?

Also is there a particular brand which can be recommended for a (boring) non-overclocker?

Thanks.

Phil

While the card might last longer with lower heat, graphics cards will last long enough running at standard setting that they will be obsolete by the time they die.

If you really don't need the power of the GTX460, then get a slower card and save your money now, rather than saving your money later by buying a card and having it last longer.

Good brands are Asus, EVGA, and Gigabyte.
