Steamroller is supossed to bring a good perfomance, in theory, if you don´t like to wait get an i5 ivy or sandy.

It is not long ago the piledriver CPU series got launched 3-4 months ago. The piledriver series proved to increase the performance from bulldozer with about 10-15%. Waiting for the next gen, could be a loooong time to wait.

The best option you have if you got an A3+ MOBO, just get the piledriver CPUs. The best bang for the buck is the FX 6300 at the price of 140$.

If you don't have an A3+ MOBO, then go ahead and get a 1155 MOBO and get an i5-3570 or an i5-3570k depending on wether you're going to overclock. It is one of the best CPUs for the money right now!
