I would like to remove the recycle bin from my desktop. Does anyone know how
and could they describe so in a reply.

Thank you!!

You can't hide it, per se. You can get rid of it. Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Navigate to:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{647053C3-1879-34D7-AE57-67015C91FC70}

Right click the {647053C3-1879-34D7-AE57-67015C91FC70} subkey and select Rename. Rename it to OLD_{647053C3-1879-34D7-AE57-67015C91FC70}.

Log off, log back on and the Recycle Bin is gone. Undo the renaming to put it back.

Download and install tweak UI (
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx )
and there is a setting in it under desktop for what is shown on the desktop.
Uncheck the Recycle Bin to hide it from the desktop.

Damn, didn't realize they'd added that :-( Would have sworn I looked and didn't see it there. Thanks!
