So I have 2 monitors, one 22" and one 20" and I will be upgrading from a GT530 to a GTX570 soon.

My 22" monitor does not have a DVI-D input, but my 20" one does so the GTX570 will only be compatible with my smaller monitor.

My question is if I can use my GT530 to support my larger monitor for use of everything, except gaming of course which will be done on the 20" GTX570. Is this possible?

you can but will have problems, as you get the features of 1 card only, so if you use the GTX570 for gaming, the 530 will loose all it's features, no 3d apps, it's like having a 2d card with a lot of memory, but no features as it's setup for the other card only, no drivers will be linked to the card as you can't technically have 2 different cards in the machine, so if you do photography or run photoshop or videos you will get crap quality and low resolution, I think it's limited to 1280 x 1024 resolution, so big screen is useless, just buy a dvi tio vga adapter to connect to the video card, it's a lot less hassle
