I am building a mid range PC and I am confused between GTX 560 and HD 6870. I am from India and everything is very pricey here. In terms of performance, power consumption and future needs like GTA 5 which is a right choice. Buying a core i5 anyway. :pt1cable:  Not going for a multi GPU. Should I wait or buy? :bounce:

560 has lots of overclocking headroom, while the 6870 has very little. Overclocked the 560 is a much better card, and it comes with PhysX, Adaptive VSync, etc.

I have to agree with the 560 non Ti one to get. In the bench that I am going to link you to is showing just stock values and the 560 does better that the 6870 in about 90% of the benches give or take a few %'s. Good luck to you.

I had the same conundrum

At the end of the day, the 6870 was 40 bucks less than the ti, but overall performs closer to the ti than the 560 so it made sense.

You don't want to base your purchase on what your card *could* do, you base it on what it *can* do. Not all cards overclock well, and most increase heat and noise output if you do.
