Can anyone tell me a good newsgroup for Mini-DV camcorder help?

I'd like help on getting videos out of my new Canon Optura Xi Mini-DV
camcorder, copying them to a PC, making a DVD from them, etc. Just basic
amateur stuff.

Thanks---

You might try a group with "video" in the name.

Usenetly speaking, rec.video.desktop worked good.

Kashe is definitely a smart-ass (and resides in my kill-file), but this
particular remark by him was entirely appropriate, and not particularly
"smart-ass" in nature.

You should, indeed, do a simple newsgroup search using that word. -Then
narow it down beyond that for your particular needs.
What's wrong with that?
Also...though you may think this is another smart-ass remark...it isn't.
The specific needs you mention in your post (copying to PC, discs, etc.) are
extremely basic, and I'd put money on your camera's manual giving
camera-specific instructions for connecting your unit to a PC for upload,
etc. Most likely came with a program for working with DVD video, too!

Sue me...but you have to at least look a bit.

rec.video.desktop is the one you want.

Request for ... newsgroup ... videos -- I guess you could do
better? What would yopu suggest for someone looking in a b&w group for
info on color processing?
