Im trying to upgrade my already outdated then upgraded machine.
I have an evga 730a mono (I know
) and am getting my Phenom ii 940 3.0 tomorrow to install. I have 4 gigs corsair dual channel ram etc. A fairly new corsair psu that's like 650 watts I think. As for gpu.. I'm running a gts 250 that I overclock a little bit, more or less mess with.
now I've seen peoples YouTube videos of them playing games like bf3 on a gts 250 on high settings and appearances may fail me but they seem tto get decent fps.
I've been using hwcompare to compare gpus with my 250 and I'm thinking something like a radeon HD 5870?
I want to give ati a fair shake this go around.
I just want a good card that can handle most maybe if not all ggames and look pretty while doing it.... and hopefully nit being too ffast to bottleneck my CPU or not be compatible with my mobo.
I know I should just start fresh with a nnew mono but ATM miniskirt spending is the goal.
I'd be happy with last years model that someone upgraded from to something better ya know?
Idk something around 100 retail or even less used. Anything really.
I almost bought a 5870 on ebay missing a fan and shroud for 50$ but hesitated....
