Buying new gaming Pc

I am looking for a gaming pc for my 12 year old son. he currently uses a laptop but complains that it "lags', which I assume means is slow.

Please recommend a desktop with excellent graphics for around $1200.

umm you can buy a decent prebuilt for 1200. can you please specify which games he plays. i can find something.
