If it is an LCD the best resolution is always Native. Native is the highest resolution your rmonitor can use. On most monitors that will be 1920x1080 or 1680x1050.

In most cases a game will look better at 1920x1080 with the detail settings on medium then if you have the resolution at 1280x800 and the detail on high.

The kicker is tha higher the resolution the harder the computer has to work to run the game. So your game may slow down.

I say start at a the highest resolution you can, and set the game to high detail settings and try it. If the game does not feel right or is choppy set the detail to medium.

If the max resolution for your monitor is 1366x768, then you won´t be able to go any further -- that´s the max you can play with.

To be honest I wouldn't go any lower than 720p, so just go with 1366x768.

I suggest getting a new monitor that has a higher resolution, and perhaps a new video card to go with it, and maybe even a new motherboard and processor so there's no bottlenecks.
