Computer problem with fan

Hello,
yesterday i installed my new case fans and i had no more fan headers on my mobo so i used a molex connector and put it straight into my psu when i went to boot my pc the fan was working and everything but my pc kept starting and shutting off over and over. once i disconnected the fan the problem went away. anyone know whats wrong and how i could connect my fan without having this problem

What brand/power is your PSU? I never heard of a fan causing problems with one fan running off of a 4 pin molex.
