I'd go with the FX 6300....can't go wrong with it. Yea the i3 maybe a little faster in a few games today but I'm very certain you won't notice it
On the other hand, games are starting to utilize more and more cores, so the FX6300 should tie up and even beat the i3 in gaming in modern games much sooner than you'd expect.
Even Tom's hardware is emphasizing this fact, as you can see if you have time to go through the first 2 pages of this article.

On top of that this chip has shown that it can hang right in there with the i5's under properly threaded workloads
Ripping movies, rendering, running multiple VM's and super smooth multitasking while doing a zillion things+an antivirus scan together at the same time? YES PLEASE!!!
I don't know about you, but I'd regard it as foolishness it you purchase any other chip than this at this price point right now
And to top it all up, it comes with an Unlocked multiplier, so you can easily squeeze out extra performance out this beauty if you ever feel the need to do so down the road.
