Hello, I saw a Xeon E3-1230v2, which has 4 Ivy bridge cores with Hyperthreading @3,3 GHz and an i7 also with 4 IB cores with HT @3,4 GHz, but about $80 more expensive.
So the question is why is the xeon so much cheaper if it is just 100 MHz slower?
Xeon E3-1230V2 is an enterprise chip; you cannot overclock it, if I am not wrong. The i7 that you mention I believe is i7 2600K, which would allow you to overclock it. The xeon allows ECC memory.
