Approximate Purchase Date: Some things now (as they are on sale) others will wait until they go on sale.

Budget Range: 1250-1500 after rebates. I would rather shell out for a better brand than go for something cheap.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming (Skyrim, Dragon Age, etc.), Streaming, internet browsing.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: No. Will use Windows 8 preview until the full version comes out and will purchase then.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, though I am open to other sites

Location: Washington State

Parts Preferences: Intel, Invidia, Corsair, Asus, anything quality.

Overclocking: Maybe eventually. I know that I will not overclock for a while, so I was wondering if i need to buy a CPU cooler now or if I can wait until I am planning on overclocking (which is some time in the future... maybe a year or two?)

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe eventually. Depends on how well my graphics card ages

Your Monitor Resolution: probably just going to get a basic 1920x1080

Additional Comments: I know that I will be able to shave of a couple dollars here and there if I wait for things to go on sale and buy things in combos on Newegg... But right now I am more concerned about whether or not I have the right parts. Won't need an optical drive right away. If macbook pros don't need them neither do I! Just kidding. But in all reality, I don;t want to buy a blu-ray drive (and accompanying software) at the moment, and I will upgrade eventually. I consume most of my video content online, and I have access to a Steam account for games. I also might just move the optical drive from my old computer over to the new one if I have need. Like I said earlier... I don't plan on overclocking right away, but I do expect to do so in the future. Will I be able to upgrade my cooling at that point, or do I have to do it now? Also, I was thinking of going with a 660ti, not sure if a 670 is worth the extra $100 for 1080p gaming and video consumption.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I have a 6 year old (at least!) Dell. Nuff said.

Parts:

CPU: Intel i5-3750k (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504) 229.00

Graphics Card: Nvidia 660ti (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125440) This version is on sale right now, and the factory overclock is great. But to be honest, I have no idea which brand is the best. My second choice would be this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127696). 287.55

Motherboard: Thinking of sticking with an Asus z77 here as they seem solid. But I am not sure what others would recommend... (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=13-131-819&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=1#scrollFullInfo) 207.99

Hard Drive: Don't need too much space, and the price is right... (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769) 69.99

SSD: Thinking 64 gb is probably enough, and Crucial is a good brand (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441) 72.99

Power Supply: (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139010) Seems like this is one of the best ones out there. 114.99 (all deals considered)

Case: MERRRR probably either going to get a Corsair Graphite (first choice) or an NZXT Phantom. Not too important. Willing to wait for a good deal. up to 180.00

Monitor: This one has great reviews and is not very pricey. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236052&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL082812&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL082812-_-EMC-082812-Index-_-Mobile-_-24236052) 139.99

Memory: Probably going to stick with 8gb or so. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145345) All seems pretty much the same. Corsair is well rated. 47.99

So that's it. Thoughts? Anything is appreciated!

Thanks for your help!

I got you a 256GB SSD. I skimped a LITTLE on the motherboard, but the performance of one over the other is negligible most of the time, and the extra cash allowed me to fit in a GHz 7970. Additionally, I got you the monitor you wanted and a very good HAF 922 Case, very well reviewed.

EDIT ::: If you wan't I can pull back on the 7970 to a regular 670, and try to up the PSU a little.
