So I have a laptop (acer aspire 5742) with an i3-370m processor and 2 gb ddr3 ram.I ordered 2x4gb ram ddr3 for it and I want to buy a new processor. It's the famous intel core i7 820qm or just 820m as the guy from ebay told me,it's new and costs 120€. So i have the intel HM55 Motherboard and i read that it supports this processor that i want to buy.....BUT what is going to happen with the integrated graphics i have-Intel HD graphics which has 128 mb of memory i think!?
Do i need a graphics card? or does the i7 have integrated graphics i don't know...... :??: :??: :??:

The I7 should have integrated graphics but the more important thing is to make sure you can use that processor. OEM computers especially laptops are very limited in what can be upgraded and what you can upgrade to. Just because the motherboard can support it that doesn't mean the BIOS will. The BIOS has a list of CPU's that will work and if the CPU isn't on that list your computer won't work.

According to Acers website these are the CPU's supported. It seems the highst you can go with that laptop is an I5.
