Nvidia Driver crash help

After having one of those Driver crashes(3rd occurrence) Windows did some compatibility setting and now whenever i click "updates" in my Nvidia Control panel it crashes:

Nvidia Update Components, 1.8.15.0 has stopped working

I also can't "right click" the Nvidia icon in the system tray anymore

I am running a eVGA GTX 570 with the 301.42 driver.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Try doing a clean install of the driver. Uninstall the driver and restart. When it comes back on it will be at at 800x600, but when you download/install the driver and restart it will come back on fine.

A better way to do it is download a driver cleaner and zap the nvidia driver then restart and download/install the driver. I use Driver Sweeper, you can download it from here: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D---Driver-Sweeper-(Setup)_d1655.html
