Building $1,000 gaming machine

Hello all, new to the forums and in need of some advise. I'm a tech guy removed from the hardware scene for some time now. Kids, wife, job, you know the things that make you grow up lol. Anyway, I'm in dire need o a computer as my decade old dinosaur of a Dell is ready to be retired. I really need to stay right at $1,000 bucks after rebates. Looking for a general purpose PC that can handle games like Skyrim, GW2, BF3 on high settings. I've been away from PC gaming for a while and would really like to get back into and would like a machine that can take advantage of the technology available, while staying on a decent budget. I thank you in advance and hope you can help!

Approximate Purchase Date: Within the next month or two, can start ordering parts now.

Budget Range: $1,000 After Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, web, general usage, (possibly not priority) compiling android builds, just for fun, don't need to buy parts specifically for it, if it works great if not no biggie.

Parts Not Required: Monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com or anything you guys suggest

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: Out of the loop... I trust you guys advise on whats good in my price range.

Overclocking: Yes, no, maybe... Didn't plan on it

SLI or Crossfire: Whichever performs best in my budget.

Monitor Resolution: N/A

Thanks again all! Looking forward to your responses and appreciate you taking time to help.
