Will this bottleneck my gpu ?

Hi guys i just decided to buy a new hd 7770. I havent bought it yet . I am currently on 8400GS 1gb ddr3 and saw a very disgraceful performance. these are my pc specs :
processor - core 2 duo e4600 2.4 Ghz
motherboard- foxconn G41 MD-V
ram - 8 gb ddr3
power supply- zebronics 450w

I asked about the gpu in my another thread and they said that hd 7770 will bottleneck with my cpu . Is it really going to happen . Will i see no performance increse from 8400 GS to hd 7770.

You could get a gtx650 if u wana play BorderLands or Physx Games. But Ati is famous for providing affordable GPU. Giving u more bang for you buck.

Plus look for an upgrade to your PSU. Something with much more +12V rail current

HD 7770 and HD 6850 are good choices with low power requirements and adequate performance.

As for bottleneck, BF3, GTA IV are pretty CPU intensive too so they will cause some lag.

but sooner (most likely) or later you'll need to upgrade your rig

get an 7750 without psu upgrade. If the PSU is running your current card which takes max 77w. Then it can 7750 easily. others may add if am wrong.

It will work fine, no need to worry about your cpu. Maybe in a few months you should upgrade your cpu since games by that time will most likely depend on the cpu

i would strongly suggest a cpu upgrade as well because the gpu that you are planning to will test your cpu and you might not get the desired perfomance ...........please tell us more about the budget that you have in your mind to upgrade the system

Older games will no problems with that cpu.but cpu intensive games will strugle like your hd 7770 is capable of givin 40fps but due to cpu it may be around 25fps so that is a bottleneck to cpu.i would suggest a upgrade.

core i3 3220 is one of the best i recently bought it and i am using the gtx 460 even with that iget 50-55 fps on gta 4 benchmark and only 25% of the cpu perfomance is utilized in the task manager...........but if you can afford a little more then i would suggest you to go for the core i5 3570 that is the best gaming cpu right now available .............

Do not get 1gen i3 it uses lga 1156.it is better to go with lga 1155 as you can upgrade to i5 and i7 in future.

So wait a little longer and save up. LGA 1156 is a dead platform and that i3 is much slower than an LGA 1155 one.

Just be a patient or you will have to upgrade that system in the near future.

Thank you all one last thing if i decided to buy hd 7750 as it does not need an power connection will it also bottleneck. If it wont bottleneck with my my cpu then i dont need to buy a motherboard and cpu. It was my final question and i cant wait for future and i dont have any source of income and dont get any pocket money also

Well core 2 duo @2.4 ghz will bottleneck with hd 7750.why not you get 2nd gen dual core g645 + hd 7770.it would be good.

7750 is great i got a sapphire one and overclocked it. can play most games in high settings at 1080p with 60 fps
