Hi,
Looking to try and make a media PC I've had for a fair few years A little bit more able in the gaming department.
I'm not expecting to play anything new but some stuff thats a bit older like Medieval 2/empire total war and some of the less graphic hungry games /indie games you can find on steam.

It has a very low power supply of 350Watts am I going to be able to add a low profile PCI Express graphics card that is low power enough to work with the PSU and provide a decent increase over the onboard 7100?

Its:
Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86
4GB Ram

Gigabyte ga73pvms2h motherboard with built in Geforce 7100

Antec mt 350 PSU

Thanks for any info!

gefore 520 or 6670 should work .. they dont require 4 pin or 6 pin and pull off of the pci slot .. 6750 may also be another option

http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-HD6670-PCI-Express-Video/dp/B005HH35KS/ref=pd_cp_e_1

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Express-Graphics-02G-P3-1529-KR/dp/tech-data/B0057608TU/ref=de_a_smtd

these are all low profile cards .. there are cheaper ones but you get what you pay for .. i would say a 6670 will give you the best performance out of them

then there is the 6750 7750

Thanks a lot for these suggestions the 6670 and 6650 are hitting the right budget for me and look like good cards ill have a proper look into the benchmarks and see whether its worth stretching to the 7750 etc.

Thanks again
Also do you think my cpu may could hold back performance on any of these cards?

Hey! He said he needed a LOW PROFILE PCIE CARD. The selection of low profile pcie video cards is more limited than normal sized cards.

MSI N430GT-MD1G/LP GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) $26.99 after mail-in rebate card
Free Shipping (restrictions apply) $56.99 (this is nvidia's competition to the hd-6550.)

128MB ATI Radeon X600 DDR DVI-I S-Video PCI-Express FD072 H9142 (Low Profile) $7.99 $5.49shipping

A ati-x600 is not great, but it is a rebadged and die-shrunk ati-9600pro, so it has very good game support in spite of its age. It also forces everything to run in faster dx-9.0c mode in windows7. Games like cod 1, 2, 3, fear, ect should run well on this card. It's still alot faster than onboard geforce 7200.
Most indie titles and bit older games support the x600.

$49.81 MSI AMD Radeon R6570-MD1G/LP Video Card - Silver/black
(this could be good if you plan on buying a on sale or used A6 or A8 Llano apu to run dual graphics later on)
