So last night I completed my first pc build, everything was smooth sailing until the end. The system didn't want to power on, I reconnected all the cables and on the second try it powered up. I still don't know what the issue was, I'm assuming that one of the cables must have been lose. I upgraded from a Dell Dimension 2400 Desktop (Pentium IV 2.8Ghz, 2GB Ram, NVIDIA 6200). I also have a Dell Studio 15 laptop (Core2Duo 2.66Ghz, 4GB Ram, ATI Mobility Radeon 4570). I was trying to stay around $850 budget. I'm satisfied with my build, I just wish that the front audio cable was a bit longer so that i could run it around the back. I plan to get some rubber cable grommets to cover up the cut outs. I'm also thinking about installing the 2 extra case fans i have (not really sure how i am going to do it).

Here are my system specs, what do you guys think?

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 300R $80
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-D3H $120
CPU: Core i5 3570K $230
GPU: GTX 560Ti 1GB (EVGA) $210
Ram: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP (2x4GB) $47
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 7200rpm $60
DVD: LG GH24NS90 $18
Powersupply: Corsair TX650M $94

Total: $873

Extras not installed : 2 Corsair SP 12O High Performance Fans $14(one was free). I have one more fan header available and its in the lower left corner of the motherboard don't thing the cable will reach. What do you guys think would be the best way to install these two fans ( Top of Case).

some cell phone pics.

Corsair make so really good cases, only thing is they should have made the front audio cable longer and included rubber grommets like the 400r series has. How is you cable management, and if you don't mind me asking that kind of specs does your system have

edit: also does your rest button work? when i hit the reset button i get error message saying you pc was not shut down properly... would you like to repair it. I'm using Windows 7 64bit home premium.

About the Audio Cable -- YESSSSS -- That pissed me off SO much. AND my MOBO's audio header was all the way on the opposite corner, so I had to make it reach -__-

Your cable management visually looks better than mine because my PSU didn't come sleeved -- the GPU and PSU were salvaged parts that I added on to a newer build. Additionally, this was my first build, so I'd say cabling was above average for a starter.

CPU - FX 6100
RAM - 8GB
GPU - HD 6850
PSU - ANTEC 500W EarthWatts Bronze certified
CD DRIVE - Who carees... some sony or something..
Mobo - Asrock 970 Extreme3

How do I add a photo from my documents to the reply btw?

As you can see, the cables weren't sleeved, so it looked sort of messy in the end. But if you look, you can see a BLACK AUDIO CABLE going from the right side all the way to the bottom left of the motherboard... :pfff:

its not to bad, but that why i went with a semi modular power supply. Do you know if there is some sort of extension cable for the front audio connector

Update:

I rerouted my cables, used a extension for the front audio connector. Added some cable grommets and installed a additional 140mm front fan.

Here is a current pic.
