If you can afford it, the best approach is to get the most video card within your budget. Only get the 570 if money is too tight for the 670. The hope is that you never have to regret cheaping out on a video card purchase. The GTX 670 is an awesome card at an good price.

I wouldn't expect much movement on the prices. If there is any price drop, it'll happen in August when the GTX 660 Ti gets released. Actually, if you are waiting, that card might be a good alternative between the 570 and 670. For about $300, it should be faster than a GTX 580.

I would recommend you avoid an SLI setup. I don't know if you have had/used an SLI rig before, but the issue of micro-stuttering is unavoidable (see a search engine for more details). Some people's visual cortices are not as affected as others (and there are others variables which contribute to the perception of the stuttering), but assuming frame rate is not an issue, you will have a more pure experience if you invest in a high-end single GPU card. You may even save money by going this route. Also, you won't have to rely on nVidia/AMD to release drivers with optimized SLI support for new games.

Bottom line, current generation high-end single GPU cards are more than powerful enough for gaming at 1080p. If you stick with that resolution, you should be happy with a single GPU card for awhile.

gtx 670 s better than gtx 580 in every benchmark it is the best card after gtx 680
it can beat gtx 680 after overclocking ,in addition, it has txaa which is better than any antialising in performance and quality
