Hi I am thinking about getting a graphics card and I am debating between the HD 5850 for about $100 and the HD 3870 x2 for $80 from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129218). I just need an outside opinion on which one to get and why. Also I am leaning towards the 5850 which is also used, but correct me if I'm thinking wrong. Thanks for anything that you can tell me. I planned to game at about 1440x900, and don't need everything maxed out, just enough to get decent frames above lowest quality. Forgot to mention CPU is i3-2120, and the games I plan on playing are Skyrim, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, and Fallout to name a few. Thanks again.

Well, if your planning on upgrading to Windows 8, The 5850 will still have driver support for sure, from what I hear ATI is dropping support for the hd 4000 series and below.

And the 5850 is slightly slower than the 3870 x2, but the 5850 has 1GB vram as the 3870 x2 has only 512 per GPU, doesn't add up. So the 5850 would run BF3 and other games at higher res a lot smoother since the 3870 x2 would be using the ram for more vram which is slower.

HD5850 I would get it, they are hard to find now.
