GPU Rendering when monitor off?

I have my 32" set to duplicate my main 24" display, if I turn off my 24" while I am gaming does it still take up VRAM or affect performance?

It shouldn't, the monitor isn't being detected because it is turned off.

But, I'm not sure if the card is still outputting to that monitor.

Actually, if you have it setup to just copy the display it shouldn't make any difference whether you have it turned on or not. The system will treat them as a single display and that doesn't require any extra VRAM. The only reason it would use more VRAM is if you were using it as additional display area.
