Yes it is, probably around 25% general computing performance worth.
+ Much faster IMC
+ Less power
+ Faster single and multithreaded performance
It is a easy recommendation the FX 8350 is a much better CPU.
I wouldnt think so; not many can use 6 core much less 8 of them fully. You would gain some by having the extra BD module and FP unit bringing performance up to be roughly on par with a fast phenom2x4
No!!!
We have run tests FX 8350 vs FX 8150 vs 1100T and in our entire expansive test suite the FX 8350 pulverizes the Zambezi and Thuban into irrelavency, the FX 4300 at times is better than the 1100T and FX 8150. Vishera is a massive step forward and this nonsence about Vishera being on par with Phenom II is bad information, Zambezi was as good or on par with Phenom II which is where the dissappointment came. 7-10 percentile IPC improvement and much lower power on the same die process and a 50% faster IMC sees the FX 8350 outperform the predecessor flagships by around 20% upwards general performance which is quite massive considering it only has a few metal level changes.
