What are you going to use to get the firmware on the phone?

No you're not. You'll need a decent flashing solution to get the firmware
onto the phone (all of which come with access to a support FTP to download
the firmware). You'll need something along the lines of Twister
(www.gsm-solutions.co.uk), Griffin, UFS or Prodigy.

It's not possible unless you use a professional firmware flashing solution
such as the ones I listed in my last post, but they're not cheap.

> ok, and how can I upgrade my firmware? if I can't from computer?

You can upgrade the firmware yourself, but you'll need to buy a decent
flashing solution. JAF or Prodigy are probably the cheapest (JAF is the
newest), and Twister is by far the best. But, JAF & Prodigy both cost in
excess of £100 and Twister is in excess of £200. If you do decide to buy
any of these solutions, make sure you buy it from an authorised dealer or
you may have problems with support.

Not a problem, but please don't top-post, it makes the thread harder to
follow.

For some reason best known to themselves, Nokia believe we are all too
stupid to upgrade the firmware, and the phone should be taken to a Nokia
service centre.

Unlike Sony Ericsson, Siemens, and the Palm Treo, and probably others?
