OK, so I'm looking into getting this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133431

On Newegg, it shows a minimum requirement of at least 400W. Now, I decided to check the one on PNY's official site and it's showing it as needing a 12v with a 24a rating.

The issue is, my PSU is a 500W, but the 12v rail only shows a 22a rating. Now will it be a system-crashing issue if I attempted to pair this card with my current PSU?

Was able to dig up the page for my PSU: http://www.directron.com/rx500s.html

It will work, but I'd replace that PSU ASAP. No 8pin motherboard power and has more floppy plugs then PCIe? Crazy. Also sad that as a "500W" PSU it only puts out 22A on the 12V rail. This makes is more like a 300W PSU. All thats missing to complete the sadness is the little red switch on the back.

I would get the HD 7750 for that PSU.

I have similar PSU like yours , But it's name is 3zone and it is made in Korea. ^^

It's only 400 watts and i run 6670 GDDR5 on it. HD 7750 is the highest GPU i can go without Upgrading my PSU :p

If you want GTX 550 ti or higher.. You better upgrade your PSU to a Quality one. Just for more headroom. Even if it's another 500watts but it has higher AMPS.

Assuming you know the mobo only has x2 PCIe x16 2.0 slots, you can install a 3.0 card into a 2.0 slot?

Well... I keep getting so many mixed responses.

"Yes the 550 will work."
"The 550 sucks. The 7750 is better."
"The 7750 sucks, the 550 is better."
"The 550 won't work on that PSU."

But I guess I'll get the 7750 just to block out the power issue.
