Hello,

i'm getting a an upgrade on my pc soon and i mostly want it for iRacing.. i want to run 3 screens if possible but i am looking at different video cards..

would the 1gb 6870 handle 3 screens iracing better than 2gb 6850??

and does anyone know the difference in price between the 2?

Thank you!

well i will only use iracing on this pc as gaming.. maybe other games too but mainly for iracing.. if I'm gonna play other games it' ll probably be something like bf3 or counter strike but i don't have plans on doing it atm..

this is the minimum specs for running iracing..
Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
Intel Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2
or higher
NVidia GeForce 7800 / ATI Radeon X1800 or above graphics adapter recommended
2 GB system RAM
6 Gb free hard disk space

but i know 6870 is a better card than the 6850 but i wanted to know if its better to run a 1 gb 6870 than a 2gb 6850..

also the hd 7770 is it better than these 2 cards for 3 screens??

system i'm getting will be
AMD Radeon 6850 2gb / 6870 1gb / 7770
FX-8150 (8x 3600 MHz)
MS-N750-VAL (750 Watt)
M5A97 (AMD 970)
with 4 gb of corsair vengeance

i'd appreciate it if anyone suggests me other parts instead the ones i have written above.. if it' ll give me better performance with the same price range..

btw it was my first post on this forum and its been a very great and warm welcome..

Thank you very much!

HD 6870 1gb is still better than 6850 2gb, for 3 screens 6870 gets my vote.

did I read stretching across 3 monitors ?........... the 6870 may be a little faster in games but not by a whole lot. Running three monitors, or even running 1 monitor above 1600 res and that extra vram will come in handy.

yes 3 monitors side by side.. like this in this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvYkYRgcM8c&feature=plcp

its a really hard decision.. i think with multiple monitors the vram will play the most important role right?? since comparing the 2 in 1gb the 6870 will be better.. ??

btw is there a difference if i use 3 lcd monitors or 3 led monitors with one of these graphics cards??

sorry if i don't know a lot about pc hardwares.. :)

thought I said the card with 2gigs of vram would be better. that would be the 6850 not the 1gig 6870. maximum fps isn't the only thing to consider when thinking about performance.
