I understood CAS settings now! everything that is 2-x-x is CAS2, even 2-3-3 is CAS2, and everything that is 3-x-x is CAS3, even 3-2-2 is CAS3! So if I had a choice of 3-2-2 or 2-2-3 I would choose 2-2-3 for faster settings!(I feel like a dumbass for some reason!) I spent a lot of time researching on that info, so it's better be true...

Here is some basic infromation that may be helpful. Also, read the guides here in THG. You will find them interesting.

You'd probably also want to read the FAQs at major memory makers crucial.com and mushkin.com for basic info.

Ahhh... the clearing of a minor brain f**t. It's about time that manarch figured out something without the aroma of burned silicon filling the air. I thought I was going to have to ship him a fire extinguisher for his birthday.

Just kidding! ;-)

I don't like the way people joke in this community, I feel greatly disliked....
My hands start shaking when people say 2-2-2 is better! I can have 2-2-2 with 320mb of RAM, and this suppose to boost my system peroformance over 512Mb at 2-2-3? I use Cacheman to optimize my RAM so WindowsME has no problems with that! I'm not gona overclock just play games and benchmark!

awwww
poor manarch
*HUGS*
all better now?

personally, if i was forced to choose i would go for 320Mb @ 2,2,2. rare it is to find anything that I do that goes over 256mb.
but just to be safa and happy:
512mb cas 2,2,2 @ 150mhz.

Just playing around, dude ... don't take it seriously.

Hmmm ... perhaps I should be more careful who I tease. It might be true ... the pen is mightier than the sword.

See ya in the funny papers!

P.S. Why are you shaking? Are you really that excited? Do optimal memory timings give you epileptic fits? What gives? Don't hold back, manarch ... unburden your soul! There, there. Uncle Toe is here.

anybody knows if I'll be thrown out of comunity if I'll write this question (2-2-3 or 3-2-2?) to TOM himself? will I get a bad answer, no answer, or a really bad answer?

I don't know, manarch. I don't recall meeting anyone who has ever spoken to him. Perhaps no one has ever had the temerity to make the attempt. I always figured that we're kinda like the oompaloompas, and he's Willy Wonka. We catch a fleeting glimpse of him, now and again, being privileged enough to enter into his domain, and do a little grunt work ... but the rest of the world is unaware of his status. Somehow, the website just goes on and on; perfectly, invisibly maintained, as if by magic. Except for the weekly signature. Maybe he likes cookies.

But ... I guess you could try and write him.

Well, anyway ... it was nice knowing you.
