You do realize that you have a an Intel CPU and you are asking about an AMD CPU. If you want to get an AMD CPU you need get a motherboard, new CPU and new RAM. You can't put an AMD CPU in an Intel socket.

Download pdf file from Www.scan.Co.UK link .
    Oc is enough now.
    or
sell that system to get money for new system .
  3. Wait a bit more for Haswell, it's the most optimal upgrade for the Core 2 series.

I know i would have to upgrade to a new MB i have LGA 775 and the fx is Am3 +

I wish to know if the amd FX-3850 would give me a 30% performance boost and if not what CPU that is not to expensive would.

I would use it for gaming only.

  6. I doubt it. I look at Tom's cpu heirarchy charts and disagree with those. from experience I see it better than a lot that they have listed as better.

30%, no way. I also wouldn't go the AMD route neither.

what about an intel 2500 non "K" processor and an 1155 board and ddr3 memory?
  7. I like the Q 9550 and i have a Sparkle Gtx 480 gpu and 4 gb dd2 ram

I cannot run all the games high to full graphics anymore i would love to overclock but my Mobo does not support ocing.

So the only option i have is to upgrade, so i heard about the Fx-3850 so i thought maybe it would be quite good as an upgrade on the Q9550.
  8. If your main purpose is gaming I would go with an I3 or I5 ( I would get the I5.) Also if you want to max out games you are going to have to get a new video card. The 480 was top of the line back in 2010 but video cards have come a long way since the 480. They are much faster, more powerful, have a smaller GPU and use less power.
