GATEWAY mx3560 wont charge

i have a gateway mx 3560 i just bought a new brand new battery and i dont know why it wont charge there is a light on the front that is usually blue but for some reason it is re i have no idea what that means and i don't know why it wont charge but i look because it is windows xp i look at the batterry details all there don't know what to do

Remove the battery and have the laptop connected to the mains adapter only.
Power it up.
If still you get a red light, it generally indicates a faulty motherboard.

If, however, you only get the red light with the battery connected, this means there's a problem with the battery. This can often happen with cheaper batteries that are bought from a third-party instead of buying a genuine OEM one from the laptop manufacturer. The cheaper ones can be of inferior quality or it's circuitry is simply not compatible with your laptop. That's why they are cheaper than the OEM ones.

i think i bought a genuine one i just havent bin sure sorry it took so long to get back to you i could find any info on it the light turns blue with out the batterry so i have to get a new batterry
