Hello,

Just recently my laptop monitor has been displaying random green dots/pixels on my monitor, it has happened one time before a few weeks ago, but I turned off my computer and it worked normally again. However today i woke my computer from sleep mode and the green dots appeared again, but this time I have shut my laptop down a few times and the green dots appear every time I start it back up. I have been searching Google and everybody has different suggestions to fix this issue and different reasons to why it is happening exactly.

I would also like to note that my computer overheats frequently, it may or may not have something to do with the problem

My laptop is a refurbished HP Pavilion DV7 from 2010. There is no overclocking or any hardware adjustments to my knowledge

Mmm sounds like a dying graphic chip, when they overheat alot for long periods, due to gaming, poor airflow like dust or puting in bed

My advice is get ready to replace either logic board or earning cash to buy a jew one cause i dont give it more than 1-2 months at most
