FX 6100 third party heatsink.

Hey there, I just purchased an AMD FX 6100, and am currently cooling my Phenom II with a Zerotherm BTF 90 heatsink. I was just curious if the BTF 90 will be able to cool the new 6100 as well as the stock AMD heatsink it comes with or not.

You shouldn't have any problems as long as it fits on the motherboard. If you get good temps on your Phenom, you'll get comparable temps on the 6100.

Thanks man! I couldn't find a good chart on performance for the cooler. It is a weird looking sink from the top, but from the front of my case it looks really good.

A Zerotherm BTF 90 should cool your chip very well. You have nothing to worry about. Just use a good thermal paste. Arctic Silver is my favorite.
