AMD A-10 4600M 512 MB AMD Radeo vs Intel i5 3210M with ATI 7670M 1GB

Ok, so im out to buy a new laptop which i will primarily use for "Gaming"...

Primary Reason :
Gaming

Secondary Reason:
We browsing, Mails, Facebook, MS Office (Word, Excel,Outlook), etc

Budget : $700-$800

CPU:
AMD A-10 APU 4600m (2.3 GHz With Turbo Core Technology Upto 3.2 GHz) vs Intel Core i5 3210M (2.5 GHz With Turbo Boost Upto 3.1 GHz)

GPU : AMD - 512 MB AMD Radeon HD 7660G (Integrated) and 2 GB ATI Mobility Radeon 7670M HD Graphics (Dedicated)
Intel - 1GB Nvidia GeForce GT 620M (Optimus)

RAM : AMD - 6GB
Intel - 4GB

Which would suit my needs better? The above config cost's me $712 for both the AMD and Intel Laptop.

Appreciate your time and input.

Thanks

  1. According to these sites, the 7660G is better than the 620M, and graphics cards is what most defines your gaming experience.

    http://www.gaminglaptopsjunky.com/gpu-battle-radeon-hd-7660g-vs-radeon-hd-7670m-vs-gt-630m/

However, the A-10 is somewhat more inefficient than intel's architecture, so the AMD laptop will come with shortened battery life.
  2. This an easy one, The 7670m much better than the 620m all by itself
    but
the 7670m is capable of hybrid crossfire with the 7660g for even more performance!

I hope you have that option! The A10 is the way to go here.

In this case the APU eould be better. Though it has a weaker CPU core it is paired with a better mobile graphics chip. The GTX 620M is not for gaming it is a really low end graphics chip. Now if the I5 was paired with two GTX 670M's or 680M's that would be a different story but again given the specs the APU is better.
