Quick radeon/geforce price range question!

What do you guys think?

A Radeon 7950 now or wait for the gtx 660ti to drop in August?

I am going for a $150-$180 Z77 mobo and an i5 3750k. I was originally planning on buying a gtx 670, but I will only have a mid range 24" 1920x1080 monitor, and I don't want to spend any unnecessary money on a GPU that's just overkill (also, I'm over budget).

Something right about $300 would be nice, which is what I hear the 660ti will be. The 7950 is a tad more, but who knows what it will be in August.

  1. If you can, then wait... Rumors are that the GTX 660 ti will perform better than a 7950; and the 7950's prices will probably go down some more.

    If you can't wait, then there's a 7950 for $320 after rebates: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127667
  2. 300$ is the mark for the reference versions most likely. retail aftermarket coolers will probably be between 310-330$. Though i would wait and see how the gtx 660ti performs before making a final purchase, as its going to be the last gk104 card.
  3. Ironslice, that's the exact card in my PC parts picker list XD

And if those rumors are true, I'm definitely waiting. It will be worth it to see how things play out and I'll probably end up saving money in the end.

    Besides...it's only a month!
