For my gaming computer, I am looking at 2 graphics cards. A ZOTAC GTX 680 AMP! edition and a ZOTAC gtx 60 4gb edition. Here are the changes from the am and the 4gb.

Core clock: 1110 MHz Base / 1175 MHz Boost-AMP! 1006 MHz Base / 1058 MHz Boost- 4 GB
Memory Clock: 6608 MHz- AMP 6008 MHz- 4GB
Memory size 2gb-AMP! 4gb- 4gb

Is the 2gb of memory size worth it? The extra memory on the 4gb is worthless unless games are using that much. They are the same price. Which games use 4 gb of memory?

You said GTX680 in your initial post. How much do you have in total to spend on a GPU?

It really depends on how much your willing to spend.Going from a GTX670 to a GTX680 is the difference between playing on high settings vs playing on ultra settings.

What games do you play and at what resolution?

Games will one day use 4 gb of ram, it's a question of when, I don't think it will be anytime soon and by the time it happens you will be upgrading anyway so If I were you i'd go for the 2 gb of ram

What is your budget for the new card?

What are your full system specs?(CPU,RAM,etc.)

If you have to choose Zotac then go with the AMP! edition.Their's no point in getting the 4GB version unless your plannong on running Nvidia Surround.

I would suggest going for the MSI TwinFrozr GTX680.it's build quality and cooling is one of the best. The Zotac AMP! edition's cooler is also good but it actually makes it a triple slot card which can be difficult for SLI setups. The Twin Frozr is also cheaper.

I am spending $1384 on my build right now, but have a budget of $1700. That leaves $316 dollars extra in my budget. The current graphics card I am looking at buying is a 670 AMP edition. How much better would gaming get from a 670 AMP to a 680 AMP?

I was seeing which 680 was better because I was thinking of getting one. My monitor is 1440x900, but i plan to get a 1920x1080 in the future. Could I play witcher 2 at ultra (no ubersampling) on 1440x900 with a 670? What about metro 2033?

How long would it take you to get a 1920x1080 monitor? Because at 1440x900 it's way overkill to get anything beyond a GTX660.

What CPU are you getting? Witcher 2 relies heavily on the CPU.At 1440x900 you shouldn't have any problem playing those games maxed out with a GTX670 or should come close depending on what is tolerable fps to you.

Well I went for a 680 2gb having the chance to get one with 4gb, but in my case was because I rather saved for the sli than getting 1 680 with 4gb, your case is different so if I was you I would get the 680 4gb because it is "future proof", it is true that nobody knows when games will start using that much ram, but it is better be ready for it. As for the 670 amp obviously the 680 is a better card.
