Need help building $700 Gaming Computer

Hello,
I am making my first gaming pc and was wondering what components to get. So far I am thinking of:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 Ghz:

ASRock 970 Extreme3 mobo:

Sapphire 7850 oc graphics card:

G.Skill 8gb ddr3 1333 ram:

Western Digital 500 gb 6.0 gbs hard drive:

and a case and power supply:

I have a budget of around $700. Is this an ok build? Should i go intel to utilize pcie 3.0?

I have a monitor(1080p), keyboard, os, and mouse covered.

I would consider OC if need be.

Thanks!

  1. Newegg has an amd combo shellshocker deal today that's not bad for $300. Two weeks ago they had an Intel 3570 combo for around $500; either one would work fine. They usually list two a week; most lately have included ssd's.
  2. Solid combination, but AMD Phenom is a little outdated, so you may also want to consider this combination of CPU and motherboard:

A bit more expensive, but better gaming performance. Your call.
