Why not use the Quick Launch section of the taskbar (on the left).
To open Quick Launch,
Right Click an empty part of the taskbar
Mouse to Toolbars
Click on Quick Launch
Then set up a shortcut on the desktop for the program you want and drag it
to Quick Launch.
An icon will appear and you can click on it to open the progam.
I have these in Quick Launch:
Inernet Explorer
Mozilla Firefox
Outlook Express
Show Desktop (which is a default)
