Unsupported signal type error when using hdmi cable

Hi. i am using an hdmi to hdmi cable to connect my pc to sony bravia 32'' lcd tv which has 2 hdmi ports...
My graphic card is hd 7850..... so when i connect my pc to tv i get " Unsupported signal , check ur device output" so please help me... I've tried using both ports...

PS:- i tried connecting my pc to tv through a vga to vga cable and it worked

  1. Some tv's need to be configured to accept a signal from a pc. Check your tvs' documentation.

    Nope... i've chcked it all.. :D
    Ok...now what i did.... i connected my pc to tv and monitor... so i got screen on my monitor from there i went to display settings and changed resolution for my monior then i got the screen on tv.... BUT it only showed the background.... no toolbars,.... so i selected "show desktop only on 2" and then the screen disappeared from both :(
