Are there any musicians in here who can recomend a 5.1 soundcard. I've been loking at the Audigy Platinum and Live Platinum for the Live Drive. The audigy is not yet available in oem though (if someone has a link please post), and I don't really need the software and Live Platinum can be had for around 80 bucks. I am in the process of making music SFX for a game mod, so effects are important and game sound is also important. I can afford up to about 180 bucks, but that is really stretching it so 120 or less is better. Any help is appreciated.

Hercules Game Theater has a nice set of inputs/controlls. I don't like the sound of the Live series (and I own a Live Platinum 5.1).

It certainly looks like a good card, but it's only 15 bucks less than the audigy platinum on pricewatch. The audigy boasts 24 bit and 96Khz (playback only, I know). Does any body know if the nForce soundchip will be as good as some people say? It is definatly interesting as well.

It probably sounds better than the audigy though. The Audigy is a revemped version of the Live (even though Creative says it's new).
