dayz should be easy to run but ill reconfigure something for you

much cheaper case (still great quality) and a better SSD and a cheaper power supply

my 6870 at 1440x900 maxes everything but visibility and in the games bench i think i got 40fps, so yea a 7870 will do good in 1080p, and go with thebig troll's parts, wayyyyyyy better ssd for the price.

If you want to compare for me , i have a i 5 2400 at 3.2 ghz(no turbo boost)
and a 560 ti. i'm at 1920 x 1080p.

i get anywhere from 40 fps to 60 depending on the server and how many zombies there are on the map. (most i've seen is 400)

visibility is at max 10000
post processing is off.

most everything is on high or highest except for AA(thats off).

the 7870 should handle it no problem then

I agree.

The bottleneck will be the graphics card, but it's still a nice graphics card. Take your time and TWEAK the game settings, if needed, to ensure a high frame rate. I usually do this:

1. run the game with VSYNC disabled
2. tweak the settings until I achieve 60FPS, or higher at least 90% of the time
3. enable VSYNC again

RADEONPRO:
This is an awesome tool. I used it to force Anti-Aliasing and/or VSYNC on games that didn't support it.

For example, you would force 8xAA with Super-Sampling for Mass Effect 1 and 2 with your setup. The difference is amazing! (most games are fine with normal AA, but Mass Effect really needed Super-Sampling and your rig handles that no problem.)
