First off, i dont know much about networking, i really only know how to set my password on my router, and how to plug in all the Ethernet cords correctly. So should i both buying a Linksys WRT54GL to flash DD-WRT or Tomato on it, or just get something like this router

http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/asus-rt-n56u-dual/4505-3319_7-34200558.html?tag=mncol;lst;2#reviewPage1

which is a lot simpler to install, and has usb ports to make my home printer wireless, which would be helpful. The only thing i could see using DD-WRT or Tomato for is QoS, and increasing wattage for a better wireless signal.

What is the better option, and is it really worth it to go the flashing route?

Me personally I would go for Asus RT-N56U, the USB port plus gigabit and Wireless N is far superior then the good old WRT54GL.

But I will say this that WRT54GL is Rock solid. I had one for years, and I think I had to reboot it once in like the 5 years it was my main router.
