Hello everyone.

Im looking to build a new computer. I had parts picked out a while back but had unexpected expenses to deal with so id like to see if i could upgrade somethings to still fit in my price range.

I'm not a hardcore gamer but id like a Great computer that will last a while.
I play World of warcraft (and would want to run on MAX settings. no AA)
I also play alot of steam games and do have battlefield 3 (not expecting crazy settings for my price range.)
Also, i run my own youtube gaming channel (mostly xbox) so i would like something that would have decent render times for videos and not lag along while trying to do some editing.

With these things in mind does anybody have some suggestions on builds? My price range is around 1000$ (keep in mind im in canada however the currency exchange to american is the same im just worried about shipping costs? If linking please try for the canadian newegg/tigerdirect or whatever website. Thanks <3)

I don't really care too much about weather its Nvidia or amd graphics card. but would want to stay in the intel processor chips if possible.

thanks in advance for any feedback and suggestions. i really appriciate it!

where in canada? if you are in toronto or vancouver, you can go to ncix and get your stuff picked up instead of getting it shipped

i fit a i7 2600 into the rig for your video editing needs.
http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/gzjJ

you can also grab this ram instead if you want more memory for video editing
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=73133&vpn=F3-12800CL10D-1...
rally everything up in the ncix shopping cart and start price matching. punch in the url and the price and you should be good to go

the seagate drive is 69.99 at ncix. pricing is wrong
the os im pretty dam sure its cheaper at ncix. search under their sale banner

Yes, i live in Vancouver. Would picking the parts up be the cheaper option?
Does this motherboard/psu allow me to upgrade in the future? (sli or a new higher end card?)

Also, i wouldn't require the OS. Where would you recommend throwing the extra cash around? as i said, i'm looking for a price around 950-1000$. could you maybe re-work the partpicker? if its not too much trouble? :)
Thanks for your quick reply!

picking up parts would be cheaper (its free)

there is a OS included.

and no it will not do Crossfire but i can configure it to do so

how would i rework pcpartpicker? they display the components. you go to ncix and search them up, add them to your cart, go price matching, click on the column that displays prices, it sends you to the cheapest price offered, slap the url into the price matching box and the price that the competitor is offering, and you are done with the price match

When i said re-work partpicker, all i meant was what you did. added your changes to the build (sorry if i confused you haha)

Iv decided to say screw the crossfire and pick up a new card in the future when its outdated. so back to the old build.
(i removed the Operating system as i said, i don't need it.) http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/gzqI there is around 100$ wiggle room for other upgrades. I don't care about and ssd. so where do you think the upgrading should go? the video card i assume?

Thanks again for your help. i really appriciate it.

sorry there about the OS

the SSD will make the biggest difference so yeah
http://pcpartpicker.com/ca/p/gzvw

the cheapest price is actually from newegg (SSD). pcpartpicker isnt always correct

the next stepup would be to get a gtx670 but it would be over 1000 dollars. the upgrade isnt quite worth the money.

That case is a steal if he gets it at NCIX, but as for NCIX having a lot of those parts cheaper ...

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=69231&vpn=Z77A-G45&manufa... <---- same mobo yet it's $151.99

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=75728&vpn=CP-9020015-NA&m... <----- same SSD yet it's $105.98

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=75728&vpn=CP-9020015-NA&m... <----- same psu yet it's $99.00

http://ncix.com/products/?sku=69492&vpn=GV-R787OC-2GD&m... <----even that vid card is more $ at NCIX

ahh but the marvel of ncix is that they price match and sometimes beat that price. from what i know, the guys at ncix (instore) beat the price nearly all the time

id actually get a different psu. the cx series arent that great compared to a xfx psu

same goes with the board. id be getting something from asus like the LK board

Price matching is a good thing, but as far as NCIX having those parts cheaper than Direct Canada...they don't. They have to price match in order to match Direct Canada's prices...other than that case. But I would rather do the price match and get it all in store at one place. It would save a lot of hassle that way including paying Canada's enviro fee's when mailing something.

there isn't an enviro fee when picking up, even if i was to ship it to my house, it would have been like 4$ for all my parts.

Anyways. Thanks to you both for the help with the build. quite happy with what iv got picked out, came to like 889$ which is better than expected for what i got.
Stupid BC HST tax racked up like 94$ or something (12%) which is a piss off. but its not going to be any better elsewhere.

thanks again for your help. i really appriciate it and hope to see you guys around the forums!

cheers
