Hey guys, so I'm completely new at computers, i have been trying to learn all this for the past couple weeks and I'm building a computer to understand them and kind of just for fun. I have been looking at processors, I was looking at AMD because they are in price range, but have been recommended intel by quite a few of my friends. I decided to go with intel i5 but the problem is i have no clue what all the different numbers mean.

By numbers i mean i5-3570, i5-3570k, i5-3350P, i5-3330S, i5-2500, ect.
I understand that clock speeds differ, but when looking at all these i5's what kind do i want? what do the letters mean after, how is a 3570 better than a 2500? Can someone give me some details please?

Thanks in advance,
MattMo

Any Core i5 that begins with a 3 is an Ivy Bridge model, any that starts with a 2 is a Sandy Bridge model. The higher the second number, the faster the clock speed. Same goes for third. The letter stands for what the model specializes in - P stands for no integrated graphics, pretty sure S is low power consumption, and K means unlocked multiplier.
Hope I helped!
