Hi, I have a Dell XPS 8300 desktop with a Radeon HD 6450 graphics card, can I add a Radeon HD 6670 to it, so therefore giving improved performance?
Also, will I be able to run three monitors simultaneously?
Thanks

well the final jurisdiction really lays onto the psu because the 6450 is one of the absolute lowest power consumers. although the 6670 doesnt consume alot of power either, it would be nice to know what kind of power supply you have. as for the monitor question, yes, a single card can run multiple monitors through eyefinity.

No, you cannot use the 6450 and 6670 together.

Also, the 6670 is a piece of junk, though the 6450 is even worse. It's definitely an upgrade, but I've got a feeling you'd be very disappointed with the results.

If you want gaming performance anywhere in the realm of "good" you're going to need to spend a good deal more money. A quality 450W unit should be able to handle a card like the 7770, which is a very good card for the low end space.

Quality doesn't really depend on the card outside gaming (where faster cards enable higher resolution textures and such). If you're just looking for three monitor support, the 6670 should do it.

So regardless of whether its a 6670 or a 7770 or a 7970 card, the image quality wouldn't really improve on multimedia or streaming?

No.

Quality only changes when the video card has to render something. While this metaphor isn't quite accurate, think of a video as a series of pictures that your screen displays. The video card doesn't generate the video, you already have it. All it does is hand each image over to your monitor to be displayed.

Ok so based on the above intended uses and running two monitors, what card would you recommend with a budget of £150?
Cheers
