Slow and hard to connect

Hello,
very slow connection using wire and at disame time theres a wireless connection but still hard to connect

What type of service (cable, DSL)
What speeds does your service that you pay for say they SHOULD be (10mb download 2mb upload or whatever)
Have you done a speed test on the computer that is wired and if so what speeds did it show.
Assuming you have a wireless router, what type.
