I wouldn't recommend bumping, its not legal here. And what 500W do you have?

Mmm I wouldn't trust that Dynex much, yet its probably enough for that card.

Where does your lag occurr?

What settings and resolution are you gaming at? If you are gaming at 1920x1080 or such and try to play BF3 on ultra, then it will lag because even a GTS 450 won't handle the game on ultra, try setting down the graphic settings in games.

bf3 800x600 20 fps. even less. arma 2 400x200 20 fps. unplayable. I dont know why this isnt working. its starting to piss me off. :fou:

Use driver sweeper and uninstall the graphics driver, then install the latest drivers. Are you playing BF3 on ultra?

Also, your CPU is too weak for BF3 being a 5+ yr old dual core CPU. BF3 is very CPU intensive, since you are using an HP computer, there is no way to OC your CPU.

What kind of games? You should be able to play Skyrim on high settings though ;)

It's just that newer games are CPU and GPU intensive so your 2.2ghz CPU is slow, it's like using a car engine to power a 747 jumbo jet. ;)

You should be fine as that game is not too intensive on your hardware. Here is a handy site to get an idea on how your computer would perform on different games. Just choose the game and it will do the rest for you.

It's the CPU, could be the PSU but most likely the CPU as the GTS 450 is not an energy hog.

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200 (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz

2.2ghz does not even meet BF3's minimum of a 2.7ghz Athlon X2. ;)

Haha oh Dayz, love that game.

Glad you could get it to work. I have a 4600+ in one of my comptuers that I used to have paired with a GTS250, which is about the same as your GTS450.

There's a slight bottleneck in the system, but it played all of the games I needed it to play. DayZ and SR3 might play well, but BF3 is going to throw a fit unless you play on the lowest settings.

Also, I'd like to see El Tigre be chosen for best answer, I've got enough of them.
