Hello,
I am about to purchase a computer for gaming and need advice ... between these two HP's at the same price, which would be a better choice??
HP Pavilion Desktop Intel Core i7 12GB RAM 2TBHD& Beats Audio
3.4GHz 3rd-generation Intel Core i7-3770 processor
Intel Z75 PCH chipset
12GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM
2TB SATA hard drive
SuperMulti DVD burner
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, single-band 2.4GHz 2x2 MIMO technology
Bluetooth technology
Radeon HD 7570 graphics, 1GB DDR3 dedicated memory
OR ...
HP Pavilion Desktop AMD Six Core 8GB RAM 2TB HDBlu-ray & Beats
3.1GHz AMD eight-core FX-8120 processor
AMD 970 chipset
8GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM
2TB SATA hard drive
SuperMulti Blu-ray player/DVD burner
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi with single-band 2.4GHz 2x2 MIMO technology
Bluetooth technology
Radeon HD 7670 graphics with 1GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics memory

And would this computer be worth $400 more than the previous two?
HP Pavilion Desktop AMD Eight Core 10GB RAM 2TBHD, Blu-ray
3.6GHz AMD eight-core FX-8150 processor
AMD 970 chipset
10GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM, expandable to 16GB
2TB SATA hard drive
SuperMulti Blu-ray player/DVD burner
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, single-band 2.4GHz 2x2 MIMO technology
Bluetooth technology
Radeon HD 7770 graphics with 2GB GDDR5 dedicated graphics memory

THANK YOU for any advice!!!!!

I have a question: Why do you put like 10-12 GB RAM, a very powerful CPU, but a not so good GPU?

I'm not sure, that's why I need help =) Is that GPU going to be a problem?? I wonder why HP does that?? Would you say all three are bad choices or just the first and last? Oh and I made a mistake, that last one is $300 more not $400 ... oops! Thank you for replying!!!

IMO all would stink at gaming, Build one yourself , you'll save money and get better performance. HP is not a gaming oriented manufacturer.

Slayer is right, if you build your won PC, you will save money and build a more powerful one.

The first two cost $1149 and the last is (yikes) $1449 ... the only reason I am opting for a ready made is cash, I don't have the money on hand to buy parts and build my own. I have a QVC (don't laugh) credit card and that's about all I can use right now. Is ZT a better choice? Again, thanks for your input and advice!!!

Definitely build you own. I built my own CAD machine around a specific graphics card and am very satisfied and I spent around $700. (I already had the monitor). If you want a gaming machine, look at benchmark tests for the graphics card and build out from there. You will not need 10GB of ram nor 2TB of drive space. 6GB and 500MB should be more than enough and less expensive.

You can build an insane gaming computer that will blow those out of the water for a fraction of the price. You could also build a monster for that price, like so:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

Total comes out to $1109 without shipping, and alot of people here are going to agree that this is much better.

And before you go and complain about not being able to build a computer and stuff, here is a nice video series on how to do it:
