Just ordered my parts.. and I'm driving myself crazy with hitting the refresh button on UPS's website to track the shipment...

Was wondering what you all through of this.. I'm hoping its a good gaming PC and lasts a WHILE... I have a 2nd baby coming and wont be building another PC in a loooong time..

Case - Rosewill Thor v2 - i ordered this on sale at Newegg for 103 bucks.. Already received it and I love it. Built well. and the Fans are excellent. $103.99

Mobo - Asus Sabertooth Z77 - 5 year warranty? Yes please! I have the availability to do SLI when I can afford another 300 doller vid card ;) $239.99

Processor - Intel Core i5 3570K - Standard issue gaming processor $229.99 + 10 buck gift card

Video Card - EVGA 02G-P4-3660-KR GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB (most ive ever spent on a video card... EVER) Free Borderlands 2 game.. $299.99

Memory - G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800).. Could upgrade to 32gigs 3 years down the road i guess? $99.99

SSD - OCZ Vertex 4 128Gig.. got it on sale for $79.99... couldn't pass it up

Power Supply - OCZ Fatal1ty 750W Modular Gaming 80Plus Bronze $99.99

CPU Fan - COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO

DVD Drive - LG Blue Ray player / burner

Oh and I purchased the artic silver thermal paste

Hopefully this is a good build.. I'm going nuts in anticipation to build it!

looks and sounds good to me - you'll enjoy it!

I think you'll find the SSD to fill pretty quickly and for longevity would've gotten a 240GB

-----

here's a DEAL that was going on, not sure if it still is...

Dell is offereing a 256GB OCZ Agility 4 http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A6130857&dgc=BA&cid=251312&lid=4393028&acd=12309157224398126
if you use coupon code DQKSC6M061VLT1 and this form - http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/rebates/A6130857_1.pdf
it brings down the price to $160

can't beat that

Ahh sorry... I forgot to add in that during Christmas, I plan on getting a 1 or 2 TB HDD.. So that will solve the space issue.. I hear that the Vertex 4's are a lot more reliable then then Vertex 3's.. so I'm happy with it :)

agilitys are known to be crap compared to other options like a sandisk extreme 240gb or a mushkin chronos deluxe 240gb for 10 bucks more

overspending does nothing

1:the thor v2 is a huge case with space you never need. should have gotten somthing like a fractal define r4 or a carbide 500R
2:evga video cards are actually the worst in thermal performance compared to other cards from msi or asus. you should have actually gotten a xfx 7870.it performs about as well but sells for 224.99 after MIR
3:16gb of ram is useless to you given you dont do any video editing. even if you wanted 16gb, i could have gotten a kit for 69.99
4:the fatali1ty psu is not great. you could have gotten a xfx xxx 750w psu for 111.99 at amazon and it would be more efficent and a better overall unit given it is made by seasonic
5:blu-ray or optical media is going to die off but go ahead if you watch alot of movies
6: the sabertooth is a gimmick. the plastic shroud would actually heat the mobo up given it could trap heat. should have gotten something cheap like a gigabyte z77x-ud3h and get about the same quaity. if you want asus, you could have gotten the z77-v pro and it would be litterally identical
7:the paste that comes with the hyper 212 is better than arctic silver

Dang.. you didnt like anything I got! :( .. I wanted the Sabertooth cause I love.. LOVE LOVE Asus.. and I've read reviews as to the thermal shield being BETTER with cooling due to the 2 fans that pass air through the shield. Also, it keeps dust out and has plates that cover the PCI/Ram ports.

The OCZ PS was nice due to the semi-modular build and flat cabling.

I own quite an extensive Blu-ray library so that was def the way to go.

Oh and about the Video card.. I don't like ATI graphics cards. Intell fan boy here.. :)

About the paste.. crap.. sucks that I wasted 10 bucks then :( Wish I would of known that before

How did I overspend? I got huge deals on the case.. making it only 100 bucks.. and the SSD was 80.. i only spent 1150 on the whole PC.. :)

I appreciate your comments TheBigTroll. The reason I like the case so much, is the fact that its well made and only 100. Having the full tower is nice since using the CPU Fan and such should make things easier..
