Most suitable card for this CPU?

My friend has asked me to do a build for him. The budget is very tight, only £400-500 and on that fact i've decided to go with AMD cpu as its really the only way for this build to be successful in that price range.

The cpu: FX-4100
Ive chosen this cpu over the i3 equivalent because both of these cpus were really on par with each other in BF3 on the article that i read. Its only really going to be used for gaming, internet browsig and just general day to day stuff

Now, what is the most SUITABLE(im sure its not going to be high end) graphics that you guys would recommend? What settings would this be able to run(BF3)? Rough estimates of fps?
Also, how much wattage would the FX4100 and together with your recommended graphics card eat? And which brand and wattage of power supply would you recommend?

Thanks in advanced
PS. Games will primarily be BF3 and newer ones to come. The settings will probably not be maxxed out.

More about most suitable card
  1. What is the GPU budget? PSU budget, we can't help unless you give us a lil feedback :)

But i guess the 7770 from gigabyte will be the greatest choice....you can find it for 109$ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125415

As for the PSU, i think the CORSAIR CX500 V2 80+ will be enough.... a 58 $ PSU

But you should tell us your each hardware budget....
  2. Get the 6870 for sure if you can find one at 150$, but if not and you are on budget the 6850 is great choice, and don't be worry you won't be bottlenecked anyhow...the 4100 still a quad core CPU after all......but in this case the CX 500 i suggested won't be enough go a lil bit higher, something like a TX 650 series from corsair..
  3. +1 the AMD 68xx series are the best value at this price range at the moment. Have you considered the Pentium G series they generally beat the FX line in gaming at a lower price see:

Also check aria pixmania scan dabs novatech and overclockers for prices as well as Ebuyer though Ebuyer are very competative.

I use that online calculator, inputted all the components and it said that the recommended PSU wattage to get is 300-310W, wouldn't 500W be more than enough? Or is it the 12V amperes that lacked? The graphics card wont be OC'd but the cpu may be but just very slightly.

The reason that im not going with intel is that the price for the motherboard are nearly 2x as expensive as the AMD ones and im really in a tight budget with this build. The difference between them are only really by couple of number of percents, im sure its not a huge noticable difference.
  5. I would say they are less than the 4100 by far, you can get a motherboard and processor for about the price of the FX4100:

EDIT: I would also recommend the 6870 for sure, but if the budget is tight, I would go for the 6850.
